Exotic Zanzibar Beach Extension - Accommodation
Magical “spice island” of Zanzibar offers a perfect exotic beach extension to any luxury Tanzania safari holiday. Tanzania is superbly placed to combine a first class safari with a few days on white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the Indian ocean. Zanzibar is a short flight from the mainland and is very easily combined with any luxury Tanzania safari holiday. We have selected four luxury accommodations in exotic Zanzibar for you to choose from: Baraza / The Palms / Breezes / Matemwe Retreat Resort.
Baraza
This beautiful 30 villa, fully inclusive boutique resort evokes the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans. A fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian design, with Swahili arches, intricate hand carved cement décor, beautiful antiques, hand made furniture and intricate brass lanterns, Baraza will offer unparalleled standards of luxury on the Island of Zanzibar.
There are 14 one bedroom villas and 15 two bedroom villas, as well as one Presidential two bedroom villa. The spacious villas feature luxury interiors, beautiful fabrics, hand carved furniture and brass lanterns, large bathrooms with luxury fittings as well as a spacious terrace and private plunge pool.
The Baraza chef has designed a menu which features the very best produce that the island has to offer. The cuisine is inspired by Arabic, Indian, Persian, Asian and Swahili flavors using the local Spices for which the island is famous as well as our favorite continental offerings. Every evening features a different influence showcasing the islands produce and spices.
The Palms
The Palms has six villas, each over 140 square meters with a bedroom, living room, full en suite bathroom, dressing room, extra room with it's own en suite bathroom & large furnished terrace with views of the Indian Ocean.
Each villa features a sophisticated interior composition in all colours of coffee and cream where filmy caramel coloured curtains billow, dark grained polished floors extend and the décor is a unique marriage of colonial grandeur and traditional design. On the veranda, a silk-draped four-poster Zanzibar Bed accents a sunken, midnight blue plunge pool with long views of the Indian Ocean.
Nestled between tropical gardens and a white sandy beach, The Palms provides a range of beautifully appointed facilities reflecting the warmth and character of the local architecture in an elegant yet relaxed setting. Overlooking the beach, private palm thatched "bandas" shelter private day beds and carved sun lounges to provide intimate beachfront privacy.
The Palms also features a spa in a beautiful setting. Guests at The Palms can also use the neighbouring frangipani Spa, which offers world-class treatments and facilities. A fusion of cultures in Zanzibar has resulted in a unique cuisine, which blends exotic spices, fruits and flavours of the island. Our chefs have an exotic menu fusing just caught with fresh picked for a wonderful dining experience.
The elegant colonnaded terrace of The Plantation House leads into the Spice inspired bar, onto the antique-elegant dining room where fabrics change daily from rust coloured silks to crisp white linens.
