Loldia House
At Loldia House you’ll experience the life of Kenya’s early settlers. Loldia House is an ideal spot to relax, taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley.
There are beautiful views of the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot. Wild animals roam free on the farm and in the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside. Britain’s Country Life Magazine even described Peter, Loldia’s Manager as "probably the best butler in the world".
Loldia House is only a two hour drive from Nairobi and within easy reach of Nairobi’s International Airport. It is a perfect place from which to begin your exciting safari holiday around Kenya. It is also conveniently located for day trips to the famous Lake Nakuru National Park. There are now also daily flights on Safari Link Aviation direct from Loldia House to the Masai Mara.
Ol Donya Wuas Lodge
Ol Donya Wuas Lodge lies within 275,000 acres of wild Africa teeming with wild animals all to yourself, and no tourists in mini buses. Travelling across the famous golden plains of Kenya in an open 4x4 safari vehicle guided by the best professional guides, or feeling the rhythm of Africa beneath your feet as you walk with expert trackers, or riding beautiful horses with Mt. Kilimanjaro as a backdrop – this is Africa at its best.
Experience this wild paradise, then coming home to one of the most luxurious small lodges in East Africa where a hot bath or shower, a private swimming pool – all with inspiring views of Africa - great food, charming hosts and world class service await you.
Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge is a 20 bed luxury lodge (including 4 beds in our private bush home) in the Amboseli region in south-east Kenya. Ol Donyo Wuas is located in the heart of the Mbirikani Maasai conservation area on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park. The recently re-built new lodge has magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro with beautiful, spacious bedrooms (which are amongst the most attractive in all of East Africa), with décor that is both luxurious as well as homely and comfortable in the tradition of the greatest wildlife lodges.
Special care has been taken to create a menu that is exciting as it is varied. Since the lodge re-opened in July 2008, guests have highly appreciated the lodge, the food, the people and the experience.
"I confess, I had envisaged heading into the bush as soon as I arrived but I jettisoned this plan, having been seduced by my cottage. Accommodation at Ol Donyo Wuas is in double thatched cottages; mine, Kushoto (El Mau), turned out to be a palatial home on stilts, the bedroom alone the size of my little London flat."
Laura Bailey, The Sunday Telegraph.
Tortilis Lodge
Tortilis Camp won the British Airways Regional Award for Ecotourism and has earned an international reputation for its commitment to the environment with its rustic simplicity, unobtrusive design and attention to Kenya lodging comfort without compromising the ecosystem.
Tortilis Camp nestles under a thicket of umbrella-shaped thorn trees (Acacia Tortilis) from which it gets it’s name. Dwarfed by the majestic snow-capped peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, this luxury safari camp has 17 spacious tents, 10 doubles and 7 twins. Each has a modern en-suite bathroom and a raised wooden deck veranda ideal for an afternoon siesta. The tents have either private views over the bush, or out towards Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa.
At the centre of Tortilis Camp, there is a good sized swimming pool, whilst above on the hill there is a relaxing lounge area with lots of interesting coffee table wildlife books, board games, and a well stocked bar. The food at Tortilis is a real highlight, and attention to detail is evident in the consistently tasty delicacies served at mealtimes.
Its location, wide range of holiday activities, and swimming pool also make it an excellent choice for families.
